Trading Standards Friends against scams At a meeting last week, Natalie found out that Trading Standards have an initiative across the Country called Friends against Scams. https://www.friendsagainstscams.org.uk/article.php/124/home Our group members can become a friend either by completing the online training or hosting an awareness session - https://www.friendsagainstscams.org.uk/article.php/37/become_a_friend The Trading Standards team for Hampshire are offering to run the awareness sessions for all voluntary groups, which includes a short powerpoint presentation and discussion. These sessions will last no more than 45 minutes. Information on http://www.remembrancetravel.org.uk/ww2-tours/normandy-veteran-tours Happy 1st Birthday to the Daisy Chain Café The Daisy chain Café opened on the 27th March 2017, a vision set in 2016 by Jane Biscombe (Clerk to Yeteley town council) to support the local community. The first café session was attended by 13 people with dementia and their carers attended, now running weekly sessions supported by 11 volunteers with 36 families registered. A total of 46 volunteers have been trained to date. We have been kindly supported by donations from local supermarkets, groups, a Hart District Councillor, Hart Lottery and some individuals and are very grateful for their generosity.
