From it's earliest days, Georgie has supported the group, whilst simultaneously taking on many other roles and responsibilities in Bishops Waltham and Winchester. The Group welcomed Janice Romer as it’s new Chair, and are looking forward to another successful and useful year. In her acceptance speech, Janice proposed that, with so much experience, Georgie be offered the position of Honorary President of Bishops Waltham Care Group. This proposal received unanimous support from all present and was graciously accepted by Georgie. Surprise grants Charities were invited to the council’s offices for an informal ‘thank you’ event where they thought they would share a bite to eat and a drink with EHDC leader, Cllr Richard Millard, and a number of other district councillors. What the charities didn’t know is that they would all be leaving with £500 to put towards their vital community work. Along with 22 other charities some of our network groups who received the surprise £500 include: LUPIN group in Liss, Four Marks Care, Bordon and Whitehill Voluntary Car Service and Headley Voluntary Care in the East Hants area. Funtingdon celebrate their 1st birthday Funtingdon Good Neighbours celebrated their first year of offering driving to those who need help with transport in their area. Meeting those who need travel help has revealed that some friendly visiting would also be appreciated, so volunteers are making more friends through regular visits.
