SUCCESSFUL TRAINING DELIVERY Many thanks, to Jacqui and Ken from the South Central Ambulance Service for delivering the very informative Cognitive Impairment and Moving and Handling People Training in January. The session was very well attended with over 30 groups represented and the sessions offered advice and guidance on how to help those with cognitive impairment. Including some 'tips' on helping people in and out of cars - all with a focus on protecting the volunteer and offering dignity and safety for the passenger. A DECADE WITH BOTLEY Members from Botley Neighbourcare presented founder volunteer, Lynne Line with a certificate and engraved clock for her dedication and commitment to the group over the last 10 years. The surprise presentation took place at the Clients’ Christmas Party, where one of the highlights was an 'Ode to Lynne', written by the volunteers. Congratulations! ££££££ FOR TWO BRIDGES Successfully chosen as one of the Waitrose Community Matters token scheme, the Two Bridges group received a cheque for £445! When handing over the cheque to the group , Chris Beck, Team Manager at Waitrose, said "because of the local work that Two Bridges does for the local community, it was felt it is a really good and appropriate charity to support”. He was delighted that the Waitrose scheme had been so successful and enabled the raising of such significant funds. Cheque being presented to volunteers Valerie Allpress, Stuart Fordyce, Tony Parker Bernard Smith, a Two Bridges client. “I don’t know what I’d do without Two Bridges,” said Bernard.
