Steady & Strong
Around a third of people aged 65 and over experience a fall each year, which can result in injury and loss of confidence. Since the pandemic lockdowns, many older people have reported feeling less steady on their feet or not being able to walk as far as they used to. Improving core strength and balance is a crucially important part of reducing the risk of a fall.
For anyone who would like to attend a regular class, Steady and Strong sessions for over 65s are gradually resuming across the county. The exercises are designed to underpin everyday activities and to safeguard against the risk of falling by improving muscle strength and stability. The sessions are led by instructors who are specially trained in this area.
