North Hampshire Hospital Basingstoke

The hospital are introducing a number plate recognition based replacement to the current barriers to the visitor car parks at Basingstoke.  We expect work to start on the replacement of the barriers around 15 May and for them to be operational by the end of the month.

The dedicated / bollarded bays at the front of the hospital will remain and should be the default location for longer stays. Additionally, there are four volunteer parking bays available near the physiotherapy department.

Please ensure if you park in these volunteer bays that you 'scramble' the bollard code when you leave again. This will allow other volunteer drivers to park in these bays.

There will no longer be an option to validate tickets for users of the visitor car parks (the system is ticketless) however the new car parks will allow all users 30 minutes free parking (to allow for drop off and collection of patients).

Volunteer Drivers:

  •  For short visits (drop off and collection) the best default option would be to use the visitor car parks which will allow stays of up to 30 minutes (plus a grace period to allow users to exit the car park).  For short visits drivers need not visit the pay machines as the barriers will automatically lift
  • For longer visits (where volunteers are waiting with patients) the bollarded bays at the front of the hospital or by physiotherapy should be the preferred option

Please contact us for the code for the secured volunteer driver only spaces
